Pros and Cons of French Health Care

The health care system in France is widely known to provide the best offers in medical operations and public healthcare around the globe. Their system of health care has been proven to work and serve all local citizens. This system is composed of all health care workforces in France, including private hospitals, doctors, and all medical service providers. Most of the funding for the health care system comes from the tax that the citizens pay, as they are obliged by the government. This pretty much shows what is good about the French health care system. In your own judgment, does France provide the best overall health care in the world? Sometimes you have to weigh all the subjects before you come to an acceptable conclusion. Therefore, lay the pros and cons in this healthcare system in France.

Pros in the French Healthcare System

  • Because French health care is mostly completely funded, the people have easy to access health care services. All they need to do is to call for medical help and response would come to them.
  • For the same reason that health care services are very accessible, any citizen could get treatment from a specialist directly because they actually care about the patient rather than the thickness of their wallets. They are not biased to the patients because they all can equally afford the services of both primary care physicians and specialists.
  • Great preventive care is also one of the advantages in the French healthcare. No one would need to endure the pain of an ailment and wait for it to get serious before consulting with the professionals because basically everyone can afford it.

Cons in the French Healthcare System

  • It is certain that quality health care is not cheap, and so, with the large demand for proper health care, the taxes that the people pay, as they are obliged by the government, also increase. Higher taxes are a problem for the people. This means they would have less to spend on their necessities. Other people who do not quite need much medical attention would think that they are paying only for other people’s medical bills and hate the system. Knowing that the services they pay are mostly for the elders, one cannot simply make a counter statement to the system.
  • A national health insurance like this would most likely increase the demand in the healthcare workforce. If the workload is greater than the workforce is, then the quality of health care service could be a problem. It may result to poor service in healthcare. This is brought about by people who, in a matter of a twitch, would avail these services even if it were unnecessary.

Like how it is supposed to be, the French health care system is striving to keep the system working and therefore, making amends to fund all the processes. The advance in healthcare and the increase in the cost of most medical services have put the system to test. In the past few years, the rate of reimbursement goes lower as the taxes go higher and higher. This started people to complain for the system, but only a few can voice out their opinions due to the guilt of being seen as selfish and uncaring for their needy fellowmen.

The issue of free and accessible health care for all has been the main concern of almost all the countries around the globe. The French healthcare system stands remarkable because of the way they practice their system. It cannot be helped that it is judged by many other people who do not get the same treatment as the people of France. The real answer to all these questions would come not from the views and opinions of others, but mainly from the people who are touched and runs the system.

I don’t understand what they are really saying. Maybe a little bit but they need to be more clear and have an easier explanation that people can actually understand.

You don’t really pay for anything. All that’s paid is included in the taxes and how they would be raised.

Preventative care, the ability to afford medical care is good for everyone – you take less sick days. Your colleagues don’t have to pick up your workload because you couldn’t see a doctor until your condition became so bad it bankrupts you and makes you lose your job. In France, paying for healthcare helps the overall economy, it doesn’t hinder it. Oh, and one day the person paying into the system will be old and will have medical care, not like here where I see seniors who don’t have disposable incomes stressed about how they will pay for healthcare.
