SoonerCare Application

 Everybody needs Medicaid since it is a way of lessening the huge hospital bills in case you were admitted to a hospital. Hence, you must apply for it as soon as possible. If you are in Oklahoma, you can apply for a program called SoonerCare.

Everybody also has the chance to be granted with the benefits of SoonerCare, provided that you qualify for the requirements of SoonerCare eligibility. Here are some of the factors that will make you eligible.

  • People below 19 years old and pregnant women

People who fall in this category are eligible to benefit from SoonerCare provided that they also meet the income qualifications.

Adults who have children that are under 18 years old

If the adult is a recipient of TNAF or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, automatic eligibility is granted. Those who are not recipients of such financial aid may also apply though.

People 65 years old and older

SoonerCare can be granted to people who are 65 years old and older as long as they have met the financial qualifications.

Aged, blind, or persons with disabilities

Proof of disability that is approved by the Social Security administration must be shown and it will only be given if proven that the disability will remain at least 12 months, making the person unable to work and earn money to sustain living.

How to Apply For SoonerCare

You must not be a recipient of other medical benefits in order to qualify and apply for SoonerCare. You are to file an application at the Human Services Center of OKDHS via personal visitation to their office; however, if you want to take it easier, you can go for the other option, which is to do the SoonerCare online enrollment application. You just need to identify which, among the eligible groups you belong to and send your application there.

SoonerCare Covered Services

Several hospital services are covered by SoonerCare.  Some of them may include, but is not limited to:

  • Ambulance
  • Chemotherapy and radiation therapy
  • Dental  and other clinical services
  • Family planning services and supplies
  • Durable medical equipments and supplies
  • Home health services
  • Inpatient and outpatient services
  • Laboratory and x-ray services
  • Nurse midwife services
  • Pregnancy services
  • Prescription drugs and insulin
  • Transplants
  • Transportation for obtaining medical care
