2 Million Have Signed Up For ObamaCare

The citizens of the United States are pretty much familiar with the ObamaCare. ObamaCare, or the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), is a federal statute of the United States that was approved on the 23rd of March 2010 by President Barack Obama. This law, partnered with the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act, is a representation of the most important overhaul of the health care system regulation of the US since Medicaid and Medicare were passed in 1965.

ObamaCare Enrollment

If you are an American, you are obliged to enroll on a health care insurance policy or else you would have to suffer the consequences of having to pay for extra tax. The deadline for getting medically insured is until March 31, 2014. If you fail to enroll before that date, the government will give you a yearly penalty of $95 per person and $47.50 per individual under 18 years of age. The penalty would increase one percent annually, too.

Heritage Foundation ObamaCare

The Heritage Foundation has been researching about the impact of the ObamaCare in the country. These are some of their findings:

  • Seniors

Almost a quarter of senior citizens are dependent on Medicare Advantage for private health care. ObamaCare has created deep cuts on the said program that half of those people insured will have a hard time keeping the amount of coverage they possess.

  • Doctors

ObamaCare only gives an average of 56% worth of reimbursement to doctors for every medical procedure.

  • Economy and Businesses

More or less $52 billion worth of taxes is to be added to businesses by forcing them to provide health insurance to their employees.

ObamaCare Approval Rating

The people have not been warming up to ObamaCare. In an ObamaCare poll did recently, only 35% of Americans approve of the said law; that is, five percent lower than the ObamaCare poll done in November. Around 62% are against it and 42% do not agree with the purpose of ObamaCare.

ObamaCare Death Panels

It was stated that ObamaCare contains built-in death panels for the citizens. A death panel is a term used in politics that means, “to cover the uninsured in the United States of America” who are worth of medical care. However, many people still do not think of it as true and claim that everyone will all just end up being disappointed.

ObamaCare Technical Glitches

In late December, ObamaCare had a reason for celebration and reckoning at the same time. ObamaCare reached a milestone in terms of people who enrolled in health care policies. However, around the same date, the data center started suffering from technical glitches. Sebellius have already apologized for the errors and had called for professionals to take care of it.

There have been a lot of controversies ever since the ObamaCare was signed into law. There are many people who spend for various things, but tend to forget that the best investment they could ever put is with regards to their health. However, no law will always be perfect, but everything will work better if the citizens follow the rules.
